Boulevard Oaks

 

BOULEVARD OAKS is a community of 21 subdivisions very near Rice University, the Texas Medical Center, Museum District and Downtown Houston. A portion of this neighborhood bounded by Hazard St., North and South Boulevards, and Parkway has a designation as a Historical District. Poe Elementary School is the zoned public school in the center of this area; their Halloween Carnival is a highlight of this neighborhood's activities. The "Milford Street" 4th of July picnic, also a huge traditional event, is attended by neighbors and friends from all over Boulevard Oaks. Other public schools zoned to this area are Lanier Middle School and Lamar High School.
